Lovćen Mausoleum
Lovćen National Park is the heart of Montenegro. It holds a great importance and significance to the Montenegrin people as it is the place where Petar II Petrović Njegoš is laid to rest on the top of the mountain. Therefore the place has an important cultural heritage of Montenegro. During his lifetime he picked Lovćen mountain as a place where he wants to be buried, hence the world’s tallest mausoleum in the world (1660m above sea level). The mausoleum consists of approach, tunnel, staircase, a path and a viewpoint from which great part of Montenegro is visible. Definitely worth visiting!
Hiking Time
Today Lovćen is a retreat place for Montenegrins and many tourists. Due to the combination of continental and mediterranean climate the biodiversity of the national park is great. Get ready for some quality hiking time. Many peaks in the park are a viewpoint where you can see Cetinje, Kotor Bay, Njeguši etc. The national park has many areas for a great cookout as it offers fixed tables and grilling area which makes it a great family and friends getaway.
Adventure Park Lovćen
Adventure Park Lovćen offers a variety of different activities. The Adventure Park has a series of trails connected via ropes for you to navigate. It has different levels of difficulty ranging from beginner up to advance. You can do some climbing, exploring the area with equipment provided. Here you can also hire bikes if you like mountain biking or simply enjoy the nature, relax and later if you get hungry treat yourself in the restaurant that is also located here.
